The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Headquarters building, a 14-story, $131 million office property represents the first phase of commercial office development in the North Bethesda Center project, a 2.7 million square foot mixed-use project located adjacent to the White Flint Metrorail station. The 362,000-square-foot building achieved LEED Gold status and is occupied by approximately 1,300 employees.
Citing a long-standing track record with government agencies, the U.S. General Services Administration signed a 15-year lease in 2009 for LCOR to develop the property. Expanding its role as master developer of North Bethesda Center, LCOR oversaw all facets of development, design, and construction and continues to provide property management.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission building brings one of Montgomery County's largest employers to the North Bethesda Center project and represents the largest office lease signed in the State of Maryland in 2009. Construction commenced in June 2010, with completion in December 2012.
